After a career as a musician in a nationally touring rock band, Jon began a new life as an artist and painter. His natural aptitude and love of realism led him to study abroad in one of the epicenters of classical realism: Florence, Italy. There he learned classical drawing techniques at the Angel Academy Atelier under John Michael Angel, and Jered Woznicki. Upon returning to the states, Jon began working full-time as a portrait artist, whilst creating paintings and drawings for galleries in his spare time. After several years of developing his business and gathering acclaim for his work in local juried art exhibitions, Jon decided to further his academic experience, receiving a Masters Degree in fine art from The Vermont College of Fine Art in Montpelier, VT. While there, Jon was able to expand his artistic practice, venturing into installation art, sound art, and video production, while developing an expertise in Art history, philosophy, writing and Semiotics. For over 25 years, Jon has maintained a vibrant commissioned and portrait art studio, while always continuing to expand his creative and educational practice.
